Using Stellarium for Free

Stellarium is a free software for astronomers.

You can use it to work out exactly what objects are overhead at your location for the exact time and date you plan to do your next stargazing session.

Best of all, once it's set up, it only takes 15 minutes to get a list of objects to look at.

The downside is that it can be quite tough to use if you've never seen it before. So, follow along with me in the video above to see exactly what buttons you need to press to get the fastest, most useful results.
